The Role

Auggie is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to shape the future of its suite of software applications spanning web, mobile, and AI products. You'll be leading development as a key member of a lean team, collaborating closely with the Chief Product Officer on architecture and driving technical decisions. This leadership role requires hands-on engineering, balancing technical strategy with execution. We're looking for someone with a strong bias toward action who can solve problems quickly and make decisions aligned with business and product goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Auggie’s mobile and web-based applications.
  • Collaborate closely with Auggie's Chief Product Officer to shape the product architecture, design and roadmap.
  • Define and oversee core engineering processes, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and environment management..
  • Work cross-functionally (with product, design, growth, etc. teams) to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure code quality, performance, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and non-production environments.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with experience working on consumer-facing mobile and web applications.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with product leaders to influence product and architecture decisions.
  • Proficiency with React Native and NestJS (or related frameworks)
  • Expertise in building and managing GraphQL APIs for efficient data querying.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS hosting services.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL databases.
  • Expertise in system architecture and API design for seamless integration.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable backend systems.
  • Experience designing and optimizing complex data models, pipelines, and integrations, with a forward-looking approach to enabling AI-driven features.
  • Strong sense of ownership with the ability / desire to own technical roadmaps and refine ambiguous problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and work closely with product designers and product managers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strategic mindset.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset towards the ownership of the software development of Auggie applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
