About the Role
As a Senior Finance Analyst at Little Spoon, you will play a critical role in overseeing, driving, and optimizing our financial operations. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders to support financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, ensuring the company’s financial health and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively.
What You’ll Do
FP&A / Strategic Finance
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets. Analyze financial performance and variances, providing actionable insights to support strategic planning.
- Budget Management: Support the budgeting process, including the preparation of detailed, bottoms-up annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Conduct monthly budget vs. actuals meetings with cross-functional partners to monitor OPEX & COGS performance against budgets.
- Financial Modeling and Reporting: Assist in driving month-end close and reporting processes, partnering closely with accounting to ensure the accuracy of financials and providing insights/commentary on company results relative to plan/forecast. Extract and analyze company-wide financial statements, ensuring all relevant reporting models and templates are accurate and up to date.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Marketing, Product, etc.) to assess the financial impacts of key initiatives, optimize resource allocation, and evaluate new business opportunities.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations, reduce inefficiencies, and drive operational excellence. Automate routine financial tasks and reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Financial Systems: Support the implementation of an ERP system and ensure that all financial reporting is updated and automated.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or management consulting. Experience within a consumer goods business or high-growth startup a plus
- Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including complex formulas and financial modeling
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and tools
- Team player mentality, with a “no task is too small” attitude and proactive communication to ensure team alignment
How You’ll Stand Out:
- Experience with subscription startups – namely in food
- Experience on a team focused on operational excellence and/or customer care
