The Position: Head of Product
We’re looking for a hands-on, high-output Head of Product to lead our product function during this critical phase of growth. You’ll evolve and expand our product, and build defensible tools that solve emotionally meaningful problems for our users. Our product has two components: a patient facing portal, and a health clinic facing portal. Our company ingests unique patient biodata to develop customized treatment packages and guidance, using AI/ML. Our near term product evolution will focus heavily on enhancing our consumer portal.
To be successful, this candidate will have experience in highly cross-functional, dynamic environments at startups, and the ability to move fast and pivot quickly. Having a strong point of view on product direction, grounded in frequent customer feedback is a must. You will be part of the early team at Sunfish with a seat at the leadership table, shaping the Company’s future, culture, and future hires.
What you’ll do:
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle—from user discovery through QA, launch, and iteration
- Set product strategy and positioning while collaborating with the CEO and cross-functional leads
- Conduct rapid testing and market validation to sharpen product-market fit
- Ruthlessly review and analyze data and metrics to improve product usage & conversion
- Write specs, lead sprints with an in-house engineering team and design team, triage bugs, and QA all major releases yourself
- Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders—including care team, clinics, and lending partners
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of product management experience, including 3+ years in a Head of Product, Lead PM, or founder role at a startup
- Experience at a rapidly growing Seed, Series A, or Series B venture-backed tech company
- Track record in direct-to-consumer digital products (physical goods or in-person healthcare products are not relevant)
- Experience owning QA and testing workflows directly
- Strong technical literacy: can assist with debuggings, understand architectural tradeoffs, and work closely with engineers
- Demonstrated success defining product value and building defensibility from scratch
- Customer-Centric Approach - A deep commitment to understanding and solving customer problems through user research and feedback
- Proven ability to manage shifting internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Ability to travel 4-5 times a year to relevant conferences/ meetings
Nice to have:
- Experience with fintech or lending platforms
- Prior engineering experience
- Comfort with SQL and Figma
- Understanding of the lending lifecycle
- Experience in tech for women’s health, fertility, or parenthood
