About Us

Sunfish is a fast-growing, venture-backed Series A health tech startup. Our mission is to make the parenthood journey easy and affordable to help everyone build the family of their dreams. Used by leading fertility clinics throughout the United States, we help patients navigate and afford treatments. Our company ingests unique patient biodata to support patients using AI/ML. Sunfish’s team is composed of individuals with backgrounds in fertility, health tech, insuretech, and fintech – all with a shared passion for bringing equity to family building. And we’ve done this before - our executive team has had 19 exits and 4 IPOs to date.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Strategy & Operations MBA Intern to work directly alongside our Head of Operations on some of the most important and cross-cutting projects at Sunfish. This is a true generalist role — equal parts chief of staff, business analyst, and operator. You’ll own meaningful work, not just support it. If you thrive in ambiguity, love solving hard problems, and want to see how a fast-growing health tech startup operates from the inside, this role is for you.

What You’ll Work On

Sunfish Success Program Conversion

  • Analyze the current patient funnel for Sunfish Success Programs and identify key drop-off points

  • Develop and test hypotheses for improving conversion rates, including messaging, offer structure, and UX improvements

  • Partner with operations, growth, and product teams to run experiments and track results

  • Build dashboards and reporting to track program performance over time

New Product Scoping & Launches

  • Assist with scoping and launching new Sunfish product offerings, including competitive research, market sizing, and go-to-market planning

  • Own data analysis to support launch decisions — pulling and synthesizing data from internal and external sources

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, clinical, finance) to define requirements and success metrics

  • Help build launch trackers and project management frameworks to keep new initiatives on track

Strategy & General Operations Support

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Head of Ops on ad hoc projects and company-wide priorities

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and propose process improvements across teams

People Operations & Special Projects

  • Support with a company role-leveling project. Build a framework and rubrics for all roles across the company, as well as a plan to implement the new structure

  • Support with the design and rollout of the performance review process, including templates, timelines, and calibration materials

  • Help with Q2 target and goal grading: synthesize results, surface insights, and flag areas of concern

  • Support Q3 goal-setting: coordinate across teams, align on formats, and ensure accountability structures are in place

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing an MBA and looking for a meaningful summer internship where you can drive real impact

  • Highly analytical with strong Excel/Sheets skills; comfortable building models, trackers, and dashboards from scratch

  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple workstreams without losing the details

  • Comfortable with ambiguity — you don’t wait to be told what to do, you figure it out and move

  • Strong communicator — you can write a crisp email, lead a meeting, and present findings to executives

  • Excited about health tech, fertility, or the broader mission of making family-building more accessible and equitable

  • Prior experience in consulting, operations, or a startup environment is a plus
